New E-Tool For Architects And Contractors
Set To Launch On Metal Roofing Manufacturers Website
Gathering documents for construction submittals is now easier with a new online feature found only on popular metal roofing manufacturer’s website.
Phoenix, AZ (February 8, 2023): Western States Metal Roofing, a leading manufacturer of metal roofing and metal wall panels in designer paint prints, launches new architect and contractor e-tool beginning February 13, 2023, weeks before its set to be officially announced during the International Roofing Expo in Dallas, TX, March 7-9 at the Ken Bailey Hutchison Convention Center (Booth #8312).
Titled The Spec Builder Tool, Western States Metal Roofing has developed a special online feature made available for contractors and architects to use while on the company’s website. This tool is described to have been developed with the architect and contractor in mind to help minimize the time it takes to find and download all the necessary documents required when specifying the company’s building materials for a construction project.
“After hearing for years how much time it takes to find, request and collect all the technical documents they need to prepare for a construction submittal, “ says Stacy Rubio, Vice President of Sales at Western States Metal Roofing, ”I decided to look at our own company and knew immediately we needed to be part of the solution and not be part of the problem.”
Rubio continues, “After speaking with multiple contractors, I sat with the heads of each department at our company and began mapping out a plan to create a document finder that works and is the best in the industry.”
With over a year in development, the outcome was a HubSpot based solution which runs a wizard programmed directly into the company’s website to locate and gather technical documents based on a series of user provided answers to four questions and broken into five steps. The result is a .zip file the user can download, save, and use to extract all available online documents hosted by the company’s website and gathered by the program based on the user’s selections.
Users of the spec builder tool can customize each document package simply by specifying which panel is required on the project and selecting the desired profile, color, and gauge. The wizard is limited to one panel per session but can be used multiple times to collect the documents they need for other panels on their project by going through the same process multiple times.
This new e-tool also has convenient time-saving features such as a built-in button to go back a previous step and a start over button, both made available during and after each session. Additionally, a list of available documents for the specified product is also displayed on the results page at the end of a session so the user can download documents individually. A follow up email with a link is also sent to the user so they can revisit the results page to view and download individual documents based on the specific product for that session.
A short instructional video has also been created to guide users of the Spec Builder Tool on how to use the tool and what to expect. Some restrictions and limitations of the tool are also explained in the video. For options or documents not available through the tool, the company asks that you contact them directly.
