What Is A Metal Purlin?

Metal purlins are a component of an open framed metal building. They will support the metal roofing panels. Purlins are supported by rafters or walls of the building and are available as zee or cee purlins.

Types And Sizes Of Metal Purlins

Metal purlins are available in either a galvanized or red prime painted finish. The majority of steel purlins are either 16 or 14 gauge thickness, but can also be ordered in a heaver 12 gauge. Purlin depths are 4", 6", 8", 10", and 12". Purlins can be purchased as a C purlin, Z purlin, and C channel.
